These are a few of my favorite things........

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to everyone!

With the year quickly coming to an end, I wanted to put together a list of all of my favorite products from 2011. It was such a great year of cosmetic finds for me (thanks to Birchbox!) and I wanted to share them all with you.
Hope you enjoy!

Eye Primers:
Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
This is such an amazing product. Some people even use it by itself to make their eyelids more of an even color, and some use it as a base for eyeshadow. I just use my finger and sweep it on! Super easy.

Urban Decay Primer Potion
This product is another favorite of mine. It never fails, and is also very easy to apply.

Lips:

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters
I will do another blog post on these soon, because I can't put into words how amazing these are. They are lipsticks, but they also aren't. They are these creamy, moisturizing lip creams that are also completely affordable. If you are a fan of Chanel's Coco Rouge colors, I would highly recommend these.

(If you ever find these at CVS or Target, you'll notice that most of the colors are almost always sold out. There is a reason for that!)

BeFine Lip Exfoliator

This year I added something new to my beauty routine, and it was using a exfoliator for my lips. I never thought I needed one and that it would just be a waste of money. Then, I got this exfoliator in one of my monthly Birchboxes, and instantly fell in love.

It just feels so good, enough said.

Face:

Borghese Active Mud Mask
I did a post on this a month ago, and I am still in love with these. Whenever I get a quiet moment to myself, I put this on, go lay down in bed for 3-5 minutes until it hardens and then take it off. I seriously feel revived afterwards and can't stop smiling.

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation
I had a friend at work recommend this to me, and I've been using it this whole last year. I use my fingers to apply it ( I feel like I get better coverage that way) but if I want light coverage I'll use a sponge and dab it on for a nice glow. It has a really fine shimmer added to it which I find helps keep your face glowing throughout the day. But don't worry, that shimmer doesn't make it look like you applied glitter to your face!

Favorite Perfume:

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy
Don't have much to say here, besides I am in love with this scent. Sooo in love.

Favorite Nail Polish:

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mint Sorbet
I have never had so many compliments on a nail polish as I've had with this one.
A must have!

Favorite Blush:

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy
I received this blush in a Tarte Makeup gift pack that I got a while ago via QVC. I wasn't expecting anything wonderful, so I was shocked when I realized what an amazing product this is.
The pigment is a gorgeous pink, and it stays on pretty much ALL day. Since the pigment is pretty strong, you really don't have to use much at all, which means that this will be a keeper in your makeup bag for a while. Definitely worth the money!

Glitter Tip Holiday Nails

This nail design has been taking over the pictures on Pinterest, so it was only sooner or later that I would give it a try on my own.

So here is my version of glitter tip nails!

What I used: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Wet Cement & Strobe Light. Then I used my favorite, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat, on top.

And, Voila!! Cute holiday nails in less than 10 minutes.

Yar! It's A Mud Face! Be Afraid!

So I just received the most amazing facial treatment ever in my November Birchbox ( more on what was in the box to come soon).
It's called Borghese Fango Active Mud, which is a classic Italian treatment which has mineral-rich mud from Tuscany, plus nourishing avocado and sweet almond oils, to smooth skin on face and body.

And here is moi with it on. This stuff was amazing, but I seriously couldn't move my face to give you any good facial expression here once the stuff was stiff. It took only 2-5 minutes for it to harden (which is awesome for when you're in a hurry) and then you take it off with a warm cloth and then rinse your face with cold water.

Now that it's off, my face feels like a million bucks. It's so soft with this gorgeous sheen to it .. I'm in love. This stuff might just have to be permanently added to my beauty drawer.
Oh hi, healthy glow. It's nice to see you!
Apparently this is what the full size version looks like, and it comes with this fun sponge to soak in warm water to help remove the mask.

Fall Hair Trend: Long Textured Bob

When at the hair salon last week, I was talking with my hairstylist and she said that everyone has been requesting medium length cuts. I'm thinking Jennifer Aniston's adorable new bob is to blame..

Here are some adorable examples of medium length hair-dos to hopefully help inspire you to chop your hair off too.

The long bob is definitely the new fall hairstyle. Hopefully some of these photos helped to convince you cut some hairs :)

Let's Get This Party Started!

Yes, yes and yes! I feel like Christmas came a month early :) As you probably can tell, I'm a huge nail polish fan. I've always loved Deborah Lippmann's nail colors, but just couldn't decide which of her colors I actually wanted to purchase. I wanted all of them! I just couldn't figure out where to start..

Well, let's get this party started and introduce my new love:

Deborah Lippmann's "Get This Party Started" nail trio.

I was so excited to see this at my local 2nd Street Beauty Supply store, I completely shrieked. I've always wanted her "Happy Birthday" color, and the other two colors seemed to holiday-terrific to pass up. This gift pack would make an amazing gift to one of your fashionista girlfriends!

"Forget You" Swatch

"Happy Birthday" Swatch

"Candy Shop" Swatch

These three gems are definitely the trick to getting the holiday spirit going.

$42.00, available now online or in most beauty stores.

Get the Look: Erin Heatherton for Dream Angels

I came across this video tutorial today from a Victoria's Secret makeup artist on YouTube and just had to share it. Normally I find videos that I love to watch, there is absolutely no way I could re-create the look realistically. The wonderful thing about this video? It is SO easy to do yourself! I pretty much already own products that are similar to what is used in the video (and I'm sure lots of you do too) so I'm going to try and re-create this for myself tomorrow. It's a perfect winter makeup combo!

I'm Definitely Wonderstruck Over This New Fragrance

I am not one to wear much perfume, I'll be the first to admit that, but I have finally found a perfume that has me all giggly and exited. Normally, I try and stay out of the perfume section of major department stores because I become frustrated with those sales ladies that keep trying to attack you with their samples, but today I was heading over to the Chanel counter (that will be another post!) and had to navigate my way through those spritz-crazy ladies when I noticed an adorable blue bottle sitting on the counter.
See? Isn't it super cute?
Shockingly there weren't any nagging ladies nearby so I was intrigued to go over and check it out. I'm a huge fan of Taylor's music and I was curious what this actually smelled like. So I quickly spritzed, looked around, and made way for my destination before being attacked!
I am in love with this perfume. It's been two hours since I put it on and I keep smelling my wrist and smiling. Right now it has this faint, creamy brown sugar smell to it.

According to the perfume's website, this is what the perfume is composed of:

The fragrance composition is described as a charming gourmand – floral with sparkling fruity tones on a wooden background. The top notes are raspberry, dewberry, green tea, freesia and apple blossom. The heart features sweet vanilla along with sundrenched honeysuckle and white hibiscus. Notes of golden amber, musk, sandalwood and peach are in the base.

In the beginning I smelled more of the fruity grape & rasberry tones, but it was really subtle. The more that time went by, it became more warm and I smelled more of the vanilla. It is just SO lovely. I highly recommend this perfume to anyone.
I know i'll be going back tomorrow and grabbing myself a bottle ;)
Okay, I was looking for photos on Google for this perfume and I came across this. Really?? Hah!
I had to share it..
